Lahore: Vice Chancellor of the University of Chakwal, Professor Dr. Farrukh Arslan Siddiqi, held separate meetings with the Chairman of the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC), Professor Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan, and the Secretary of the Higher Education Department (HED), Punjab, Mr. Ghulam Fareed, at their respective offices in Lahore. The meetings focused on the ongoing development projects of the University, financial requirements, and overall academic growth.
The Vice Chancellor briefed the officials on four major development projects currently underway at the University of Chakwal, which have been delayed due to a shortage of required funds. The combined cost of these projects exceeds PKR 5 billion. He emphasized that the timely release of pending funds would not only ensure the early completion of these projects but would also play a vital role in enhancing the teaching, research, and administrative facilities of the University.
Professor Dr. Farrukh Arslan Siddiqi urged the Punjab Higher Education Commission and the Higher Education Department to release the required funds on a priority basis so that the projects could be completed at the earliest, providing students and faculty with an improved academic environment.
On this occasion, Chairman PHEC Professor Dr. Rana Iqrar Ahmad Khan and Secretary HED Mr. Ghulam Fareed assured their full support for the development of the University of Chakwal. They stated that necessary measures would be taken to facilitate the provision of the required funding so that the ongoing projects could be completed without further delay.
The meetings also included detailed discussions on improving the quality of higher education in District Chakwal, promoting research and innovation, introducing new academic programs aligned with industrial and societal needs, and creating modern educational opportunities for students.
Speaking on the occasion, Professor Dr. Farrukh Arslan Siddiqi stated that every available resource is being utilized to transform the University of Chakwal into a modern, dynamic, and high-quality institution of higher learning. He added that the University administration remains committed to continuous improvement in teaching, research, infrastructure, and student welfare, expressing confidence that the University of Chakwal will secure a prominent place among the leading universities of Pakistan in the near future.
