Worthy Vice Chancellor Reaffirms Equal Educational Opportunities for Minorities

Vice Chancellor of the University of Chakwal, Professor Dr. Farrukh Arslan Siddiqui, met with a delegation from the minority community led by Advocate Basharat Masih. The delegation also included Zahid Nazir and other representatives of minority communities. During the meeting, participants discussed the University's ongoing admissions campaign, the admission quota for minority students, minority rights in public sector employment, and other matters of mutual interest.


Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Farrukh Arslan Siddiqui stated that the University of Chakwal is an inclusive institution where no discrimination is practiced on the basis of religion, race, or community in access to higher education or any other university affairs. He emphasized that respect for the constitutional and legal rights of minorities is a fundamental part of the University's policy.


The Vice Chancellor informed the delegation that the University has reserved a two percent admission quota for minority students. He further clarified that minority applicants are also fully eligible to secure admission on open merit based on their academic performance. He added that minority students will have equal access to scholarships, financial assistance, student welfare services, and other academic facilities, enabling them to pursue their education with confidence and realize their full potential.


Advocate Basharat Masih, who led the delegation, thanked the Vice Chancellor for attentively listening to the concerns of the minority community and for assuring them of the University's commitment to addressing their issues. Other members of the delegation also appreciated the University's minority-friendly environment, transparent admission policy, and commitment to providing equal opportunities. They expressed hope that the University would continue to encourage and support minority students in the future.


Following the meeting, the delegation visited the University of Chakwal's Admission Facilitation Center, where In-charge Syed Wasi Haider briefed them on the admission policy, online application process, merit criteria, quota system, degree programs, scholarships, and student support services. The delegation praised the facilities and guidance provided by the Center.


The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment that the University of Chakwal will continue to promote higher education, social harmony, religious tolerance, and equal opportunities by providing quality education and equitable opportunities for students from all segments of society.
