National Curriculum Revision Committee (NCRC) Meeting held in University of Chakwal. A PRELIMINARY meeting of the National Curriculum Revision Committee (NCRC) for the BSc Petroleum Engineering Technology Program of 04 years / 08 semesters duration at the bachelor’s level was held at the University of Chakwal on September 28 to 30, 2022. The experts from various universities across Pakistan attended this meeting under the umbrella of the National Technology Council (NTC). The University of Chakwal hosted this meeting. The worthy Vice Chancellor Dr. Muhammad Bilal Khan, UOC honored the meeting with his opening speech on Day 1. He emphasized the importance of curriculum revision according to contemporary needs. He further elaborated on the importance of curriculum: A curriculum helps to plan the educational processes or procedures. The curriculum consists of a continuous chain of activities that enable teachers as well as students to achieve educational goals. It is a road map toward the destination of any educational institution. It is need of the hour to equip our learners with the current demanding skills so that they would be able to open novel avenues to achieve the set aims and objectives. This meeting aims to restructure the curriculum according to the needs, interests, and abilities of the learner. In addition to this, it also involves the elimination of trivial topics, teaching methods, and contents. Moreover, it emphasizes the introduction of the latest and updated methods of teaching and content, new knowledge, and practices. This would help technologists to find employment in the global market or pursue higher studies and contribute their best to the socio-economic development of the country.
